A Device driver is a software program which enables software applications to interact with hardware devices that are connected to computer. In fact, these drivers manage hardware devices like mouse, printers, keyboard, disk drive, the various cards etc. Each device has its own driver which is specific to that hardware and operating system. Updating drivers is a daunting task since they are not automatically updated and the search is long and tedious for even an experienced person. Even after finding the right driver, installation has its own challenges. Outdated drivers cause problems since the device might not perform as per expectations.
DriverCure has a comprehensive and thorough scan strategy. It follows a routine of four steps which includes: Scanning and displaying results, selecting the downloading items, installing selected items and displaying results. The results of scan give detailed description of outdated driver and software. The Selection gives the choice to the user when there are many drivers and devices.
DriverCure after the scan is completed gives the choice of Ignore which could relieve the scanned items in the subsequent scans. DriverCure can be scheduled to perform automatic scan on a regular basis. An automated update notification will be more than welcome for the user to keep him well-informed of the latest.
Whenever newer drivers are downloaded, there are times when untowardly they are interrupted and stopped. There are two safety mechanisms in DriverCurer namely the History tool and System Restore point. The history tool displays a detailed listing of the software of all items that were scanned and items that were downloaded or installed. In the event that the newly installed driver poses problems, it would be advisable to revert to the previous working version. The previous version can be used to re-install.
When there is no previous working file present and the driver still throws up error with the device, the user opts for System Restore Point feature. This is applicable with Windows XP and Windows Vista. Here the system takes a snapshot of registry and certain files. DriverCure automatically sets a system restore point for every installation which restores with no loss of data.
